Whenever you see pictures of the Maldives, it looks so beautiful that you just assume it’s photoshopped, but seriously, I can tell you it really is that beautiful! Everywhere you look had postcard–worthy views.
We were lucky enough to stay at the amazing Kandolhu island resort which is located 70 kilometres south west of Male’ in the North Ari Atoll and accessible by seaplane.
Kandolhu is a small and very intimate island with only 30 villas. It honestly felt like we had the whole island to ourselves. You can walk around the whole island in about 10-15 mins. The island was truly breathtaking. Upon arriving the service was ridiculous. I kinda felt like a celeb, everyone knew my name it was immediate check in, no faffing about.
Despite being small the island had everything and then some. Four beautiful restaurants (including a teppanyaki grill), snorkelling, kayaking and other water activities, plus the most beautiful spa. etc etc.
Now seriously lets chat about the snorkelling, it was sooooo beautiful in Kandolhu. Baby reef sharks everywhere, mostly swimming super close to shore. The water was just full of turtles, tonnes of beautiful fishies and we were lucky enough to see a huge pod of eagle rays as well as a nurse shark having a snooze.
Check out the video of the eagle rays below:
Our private double story villa came with its own GoPro so you can get all the most amazing underwater shots. Love love love that little touch.
*Beach paddle set and other fun stuff also provided in your villa :)
Kandolhu was heaven on earth, the staff were just incredible, probably the friendliest place I've ever been. I totally felt at home and was actually so sad to leave. I think I suffered post holiday blues for about a month after this trip.
Maldives is just the best and as you can probably tell I want to go back more and more and more. I don't think I could ever get sick of that place. #maldives4lyf
